Baseball Recap: Franklin County Takes a Loss

Franklin County came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Lafayette Generals, falling 10-4. The Flyers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Generals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Franklin County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Ross, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Jack King was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Franklin County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Lafayette, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-12.

Franklin County has already played their next matchup, a 6-5 loss against Lexington Christian on the 18th. As for Lafayette, they will venture away from home to face off against Lexington Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Generals will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
