Basketball Recap: Combs Takes a Loss

Combs lost against Snowflake back in January of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Combs Coyotes lost to the Snowflake Lobos on the road by a 55-41 margin.

When it comes to explaining why Combs lost, don't look at Logan Tuckfield. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points. Tuckfield has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Quinmetris Cunningham, who earned eight points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Combs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Combs' defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Snowflake, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Combs will challenge Poston Butte at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Snowflake, they and Florence will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Florence's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
