Basketball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson lost against Carlmont on January 14th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Jefferson Grizzlies took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carlmont Scots. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 554th, while the Scots are ranked 209th).

Jefferson dropped their record down to 10-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Carlmont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Menlo-Atherton the next time they take the court. Carlmont will head out to face Menlo-Atherton at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, while Jefferson will host them at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th.
