Basketball Recap: Andrews Wildcats vs. Avery County Vikings

Andrews and Avery County squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Andrews had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Avery County Vikings by a score of 55-52. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Avery County was led to victory by Caroline Hollifield and Marley Jones. Hollifield en route to 23 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Jones dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 boards. Those 14 boards gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Herbert, who posted three points and six rebounds.

Andrews' defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Avery County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.
