Washburn Rural faced St. James Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Blues walked away with a 3-1 win over the Thunder. The victory was nothing new for Washburn Rural as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Washburn Rural pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those six matches. As for St. James Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.
