Softball Recap: Weiss Beats Hendrickson for Their Fifth Straight Win

Weiss lost to Hendrickson back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Wolves walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Hawks. The win was nothing new for the Wolves as they're now sitting on five straight.

Jordynn Booe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Booe was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Bel Larsen was a standout: she scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Sofia Alvarez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Weiss was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Weiss pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Hendrickson, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weiss will square off against Little River Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bumblebees will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hendrickson, they will take on Georgetown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
