Baseball Recap: South Central Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for South Central's offense. They fell just short of the J.H. Rose Rampants by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Rampants recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Brody Brannan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, South Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamari Hukins, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Hukins' first of the season.

South Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for J.H. Rose, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

South Central has already played their next contest, a 9-6 loss against New Bern on the 10th. As for J.H. Rose, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Havelock on the 10th.
