Baseball Recap: Sage Hill Takes a Loss

Sage Hill had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-10 to make it six. They fell 4-0 to the Irvine Vaqueros. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vaqueros this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 on Monday.

As for Irvine, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-12. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly four runs.

For Irvine's part, Sage Hill's batters probably weren't too happy with Drake Brito, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (he gave up three walks). Brito has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Evan Tamayo, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jack Dressendorfer, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sage Hill is set to challenge their familiar foe Northwood at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Irvine will face off against rival St. Margaret's at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
