Soccer Game Preview: Whitehouse vs. Lovejoy

The Whitehouse Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Lovejoy Leopards at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Whitehouse duked it out with Mt. Pleasant on Friday. Whitehouse fell just short of Mt. Pleasant by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Tigers are ranked 27th).

Meanwhile, Lovejoy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Bearcats. The Leopards' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Lovejoy pushed their record up to 10-4-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four matchups. As for Whitehouse, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4-6.
