Baseball Recap: Gateway Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Gateway's offense. They came up short against the Montour Spartans on Wednesday, falling 15-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gators of the 4-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Gateway saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Cobbs, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Gateway's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Montour, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

While Gateway had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
