Jack Grunkemeyer leads Batesville to victory over East Central

Recap: Batesville Bulldogs vs. East Central Trojans

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Batesville Bulldogs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Central and snuck past 64-62. Winning may never get old, but Batesville sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jack Grunkemeyer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Sam Johnson, who scored 15 points.

East Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joel Richter, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Peyton Hofer was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Batesville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for East Central, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-12.

Batesville will take on Franklin County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Batesville is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Indiana (they are ranked 103rd, while Franklin County is ranked 310th). As for East Central, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Shelbyville at 7:30 p.m.
