Softball Recap: North White Sets Scoring Season-High Against Tri-Township

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North White). They blew past the Tri-Township Tigers 22-2 on Thursday. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Raelynn Anliker and Emma Jacobsma made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Anliker struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Meanwhile, Jacobsma tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Anliker went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Jacobsma went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Jacobsma has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Melanie Crawford was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Morgan Carter, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

North White was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

North White's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Tri-Township, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North White will venture away from home to face off against Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season. As for Tri-Township, they are taking a road trip to challenge Boone Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
