Baseball Recap: Shady Spring Gets the Win

Shady Spring proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 11) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Princeton 6-5. Shady Spring hasn't had any issues with Princeton recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Sam Barnett made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Barnett wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cutter Boggs, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Shady Spring's record is now 13-5. As for Princeton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.

Coming up, Shady Spring is taking a road trip to take on Oak Hill at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Princeton, they will take on Wyoming East at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
