Recap: Urbana Hawks vs. Centennial Eagles
It was a good run, but the Urbana Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Centennial. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Urbana's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Pyles, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thierry Patchou, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Urbana's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Centennial, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.
Urbana will look to defend their home court on Friday against the at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Maryland (Oakdale is ranked 100th, while the Hawks are ranked 122nd). Centennial's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Gladiators on January 31st.
