Basketball Game Preview: Providence School Stallions vs. Andrew Jackson Tigers

The Providence School Stallions will venture away from home to challenge the Andrew Jackson Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Providence School is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since January 25th on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Dr. Phillips, sneaking past 53-50.

Meanwhile, Andrew Jackson strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Florida State University High School 80-48. The Tigers pushed the score to 65-36 by the end of the third, a deficit the Seminoles had little chance of recovering from.

Andrew Jackson's win came from a few key players Providence School will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Javion Davis, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 15 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Cortell Pauling, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 17 points and three steals.

Andrew Jackson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Providence School's record is now 3-1. As for Andrew Jackson, their record now sits at 3-0.

Providence School might still be hurting after the 61-39 loss they got from Andrew Jackson in their previous matchup back in January. Can the Stallions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
