The Hesperia Scorpions will challenge the Serrano Diamondbacks at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Hesperia's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Serrano has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
Hesperia will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Oak Hills, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Scorpions came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs on Friday, sneaking past 4-3.
Tyler Oerman was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Oerman wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Josh Flores, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits Flores has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Serrano lost 13-5 to Burroughs on Friday.
Broden Langley made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Serrano's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Hesperia, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.
Serrano's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hesperia has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Serrano, though, as they've been averaging 9.7 hits. Given Hesperia's sizable advantage in that area, the Diamondbacks will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hesperia got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Serrano by a conclusive 10-3 score. Will the Scorpions repeat their success, or do the Diamondbacks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
