After taking the lead on a
Will Grier touchdown pass to
Aaron Seward in the second quarter,
Davidson Day (Davidson, N.C.) led 20-8 at the half.
Davidson Day expanded its lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. DD scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Jordan Brown.
Grier and Seward teamed up to form a dynamic passing combination. Seward has now caught five touchdowns this season, while Grier has thrown 41.
Grier played well for the Davidson school in the victory. The junior quarterback ran for one touchdown. A member of the Class of 2014 Top 100 Watch List, Grier has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.
Jacob Nabatoff played well for
Charlotte Latin (Charlotte, N.C.). He ran for two touchdowns.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the Hawks took, 49-20.
In a non-conference game next week Davidson Day (7-2) takes on Victory Christian Center, and Charlotte Latin (4-4) will go up against Charlotte Country Day in a NCISAA Charlotte Independent Schools game.
