Volleyball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield lost against Mater Dei back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mules took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15.

Jensyn Robbins paced Fairfield's offense, picking up five kills. Robbins got some help from Dalanie Ellis and her four assists. Robbins was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Ava Lampe, who had 13 digs and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times she's played. Lindsey Boehning also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Fairfield's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Mater Dei, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

Fairfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Benton on the 25th. As for Mater Dei, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln on the 24th.
