            Basketball Recap: Fairfield Central Griffins vs. Mid-Carolina Rebels        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Columbia  last Tuesday, Fairfield Central came back down to earth. The Fairfield Central Griffins fell  65-52 to the Mid-Carolina Rebels on Thursday. The Griffins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in January of 2023.

Several Griffins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Jazzlyn McMillan, who  dropped  a double-double with 33 points and 11  rebounds. McMillan's evening made it nine games in a row in which  she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was  Jordyn Adams, who  went 5-for-9  to rack up 12  points.
 Even though they lost, Fairfield Central was working as a unit and  finished the game with 14  assists. That's the most  assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Fairfield Central has  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four matches,  which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record  this season. As for Mid-Carolina, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 8-13 record  this season.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fairfield Central beat Mid-Carolina by a score of  53-31 on Monday.
