Basketball Recap: Ghaven Mittal's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Concordia Lutheran over St. Pius X

Concordia Lutheran lost against St. Pius X last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Concordia Lutheran Crusaders received a blow as they fell 58-41 to the St. Pius X Panthers. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Concordia Lutheran's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ghaven Mittal, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Coleman, who earned 12 points.

St. Pius X's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Oliver Bowne led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine assists. What's more, Bowne also racked up four steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Derrick Carroll, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds.

Concordia Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 6-25. As for St. Pius X, their record is now 14-19.

Concordia Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-45 defeat against Village on the 11th. St. Pius X does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
