It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Lake Zurich ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Mundelein Mustangs. The win was familiar territory for the Bears, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Lake Zurich's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-4-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Mundelein, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4.

Looking ahead, Lake Zurich will head out to face off against Warren Township at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.5 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mundelein, they will take on Waukegan at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
