Volleyball Recap: Lake Region Takes a Loss

Lake Region was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakeland Christian Vikings. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Aubrey Weymouth paced Lake Region's offense, picking up six kills. Weymouth got some help from Yatnielis Medina Gonzalez and her 12 assists. Avianna Olmos controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Lake Region's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Lakeland Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-13 record.

Coming up, Lake Region will head out on the road to square off against Frostproof at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeland Christian, they will face off against Auburndale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
