Football Recap: Cathedral Catholic Piles Up the Points Against University City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cathedral Catholic). They blew past the University City Centurions, posting a 56-7 victory. Given the Dons' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Centurions are ranked 324th) , the win on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brady Palmer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 387 yards and five touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. 104 of Palmer's passing yards were hauled in by Logan Jones, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Cathedral Catholic's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.2 points on average over those games. As for University City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

As of now, neither Cathedral Catholic nor the Centurions have any future games scheduled.
