Softball Recap: Willows Takes a Loss

Willows extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-11 in the process. They lost 25-9 to the Pierce Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Tuesday.

As for Pierce, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-10. Considering they have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Pierce's part, they got a massive performance out of Danica Wilkerson, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Ramos, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Willows and Pierce could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Honkers (ranked 681st) will meet East Nicolaus (ranked 222nd) at 4:00 p.m. on May 12. Meanwhile, Pierce will take on Gridley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (969 vs. 468).
