Basketball Recap: Lucai Anderson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Trinity Christian over Brentwood Christian

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Trinity Christian can now relate to. They lost to the Brentwood Christian Bears on the road by a 62-44 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Bears are ranked 121st).

Trinity Christian's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucai Anderson, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Anderson a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jet Naegele, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 23-14. As for Brentwood Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season.

Trinity Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brentwood Christian, they will square off against Grace Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Grace Prep comes in on four and Brentwood Christian on 13.
