Softball Recap: Dudley Takes a Loss

Dudley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 20-10 to the Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-4 back in March.

Dudley's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Ben L. Smith, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.

Dudley and Ben L. Smith could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Panthers will square off against Rockingham County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (425 vs. 44). Meanwhile, Ben L. Smith (ranked 394th) will meet Southern Guilford (ranked 167th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
