Basketball Recap: Comer Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Comer took on Central of Coosa County on Tuesday. The Comer Tigers were dealt a 42-11 defeat at the hands of the Central of Coosa County Cougars. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.

Central of Coosa County found their leader in sophomore Queen Ballard, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. Ballard has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times she's played. Imiya Reese was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight steals and five boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Comer and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Central of Coosa County, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Comer will face off against Fayetteville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central of Coosa County, they will square off against Vincent at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
