Baseball Game Preview: Calvert Senecas vs. McDonald Blue Devils

The Calvert Senecas will take on the McDonald Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Calvert is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let St. Paul get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Senecas, who have now won 13 contests in a row.

Calvert got a great performance from Tucker Coleman as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Coleman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Calvert's win was truly a team effort as nine different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Connor Moyer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.

Maplewood typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday McDonald proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Rockets 7-1. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

McDonald's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Calvert, their win bumped their record up to 25-3.
