Basketball Recap: Charleston Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Luke Bonnstetter and Tyler Oakley

Charleston lost against Mahomet-Seymour back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Charleston Trojans lost to the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs at home by a 63-46 margin. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tyler Oakley and Luke Bonnstetter certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Oakley posted 17 points and seven rebounds, while Bonnstetter went 9 of 22 to rack up 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Kukykendall, who put up four points.

Charleston's record is now 10-15. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11.

Charleston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-50 defeat against Rochester on the 8th. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-37 victory against Effingham on the 8th.
