Basketball Recap: Hooks Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tenaha on Friday, Hooks came back down to earth. The Hooks Hornets fell to the Douglass Indians 50-45. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Hornets came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Indians are ranked 319th).

Hooks' defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Douglass, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Hooks will face off against New Boston at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Douglass, they will square off against Saltillo at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
