Basketball Recap: Juanita Sanchez Complex's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Juanita Sanchez Complex came into Monday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Times Squared Academy Eagles on Monday, sneaking past 56-54. The win almost wasn't to be: the Cavaliers were down 38-22 in the second quarter.

Juanita Sanchez Complex was led to victory by Frazier Robinson Robert and Amari Delves. Robert dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Delves went 5 for 11 en route to 17 points along with five assists and five boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Robert has scored at least a third of Juanita Sanchez Complex's points. Another player making a difference was Antonio Diaz, who posted seven points.

Times Squared Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Urey, who had 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Garcia, who put up 13 points.

Juanita Sanchez Complex's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Times Squared Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Juanita Sanchez Complex has already played their next contest, a 54-51 defeat against Pilgrim on the 14th. As for Times Squared Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 84-41 win against Providence Country Day on the 15th.
