Softball Recap: Ambridge's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Ambridge's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Penn Hills Indians by a score of 10-6. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bridgers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Mackenzie Keber made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Keber was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, Riley Davis was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Those hits were her first of the season.

Ambridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Ambridge's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Penn Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ambridge will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hampton at 4:05 p.m. on April 4. As for Penn Hills, they will face off against Highlands at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
