Paintsville took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 16-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-10.
Despite the loss, Paintsville still got an impressive performance from Jenna Ousley, who had 28 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Ousley has posted in she last ten contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Ward, who had ten digs.
Among those leading the charge was Maria Perez, who had ten digs.
Paintsville's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Pikeville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.
Paintsville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Owensboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Owensboro is coming into the game with three straight victories at home, so Paintsville will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Pikeville, they will venture away from home to take on Letcher County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
