The Union Academy Cardinals will venture away from home to challenge the Lee Park Prep Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Lee Park Prep will be up against a hot Union Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. Union Academy was the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Covenant Day on Thursday. The eight-run effort marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Avery Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Taylor Surratt, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Keilana Burgess, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Lee Park Prep was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They blew past Concord Academy 14-3. The Knights' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Ansley Green made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Green was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Nevaeh Alexander was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Morgan Swann was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Lee Park Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Lee Park Prep's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Union Academy, their record is now 6-0.
Everything went Union Academy's way against Lee Park Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Union Academy made off with a 10-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Union Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
