Jim Thorpe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-66 heartbreaker at the hands of the Panther Valley Panthers. One positive for the Olympians, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Connor Penberth was a one-man wrecking crew for Panther Valley as he almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine assists. The dominant performance gave Penberth a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan FIsher, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards.

Jim Thorpe's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Panther Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Jim Thorpe has already played their next game (against Palmerton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Panther Valley will face off against Minersville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
