Recap: Saratoga Falcons vs. Cupertino Pioneers

The Saratoga Falcons suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of Cupertino by a score of 40-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Saratoga has scored all season.

Cupertino got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Soham Nighojkar out in front who scored 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Justin Yu, who scored 12 points along with two steals.

Saratoga's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Cupertino, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.

Saratoga will be playing in front of their home fans against Lynbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lynbrook is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Cupertino, they will head out on the road to face off against Homestead at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Homestead will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 885th, while Cupertino is ranked 153rd).
