Imperial entered their tilt with Southwest EC on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They enjoyed a cozy 58-40 victory over the Southwest EC Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-36 last Wednesday.

Imperial's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samuel Ruvalcaba led the charge by putting up 11 points. Duntell Carter was another key player, scoring ten points and eight rebounds.

Imperial was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwest EC only posted one assist.

Despite the loss, Southwest EC still got an impressive performance from Gabriel Gonzalez, who posted 15 points. Gonzalez has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chance Bermudez, who put up eight points and six boards.

Imperial now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Southwest EC, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with the loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Imperial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-39 defeat against Calexico on the 17th. As for Southwest EC, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-35 win against Holtville on the 17th.
