Basketball Game Preview: High Island Cardinals vs. Chester Yellowjackets

The High Island Cardinals will square off against the Chester Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses for High Island and three for Chester.

Last Friday, High Island came up short against Burkeville and fell 47-40.

Despite the loss, High Island got top-tier performance from Cam'Ron Medina, who posted 32 points. That was a full 80% of High Island's points, marking the 15th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Chester played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Brookeland 96-36. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-12.

High Island's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Chester, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

High Island couldn't quite finish off Chester in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 43-40. Can High Island avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
