Football Game Preview: St. Francis de Sales Knights vs. Central Catholic Fighting Irish

St. Francis de Sales hasn't had much luck against Central Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. Central Catholic took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Francis de Sales, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, St. Francis de Sales was able to grind out a solid victory over Divine Child, taking the game 24-17. The win was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 131st in Ohio, while the Falcons are ranked 39th in Michigan).

Meanwhile, Central Catholic ended up a good deal behind St. Mary's Prep on Friday and lost 36-21. While the Fighting Irish didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eaglets 7-3 in the first quarter.

St. Francis de Sales' victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

St. Francis de Sales suffered a grim 28-7 defeat to Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
