Basketball Game Preview: Brush Arcs vs. Maple Heights Mustangs

The Brush Arcs will take on the Maple Heights Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Saturday, Brush was able to grind out a solid victory over Walsh Jesuit, taking the game 55-48. Given the Arcs' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Warriors are ranked 611th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Maple Heights lost to Garfield Heights on the road by a 85-66 margin on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (65), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Brush will need focus on slowing down Davan Aniton, one of several Maple Heights players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Andre McCullough, who scored 14 points.

Brush's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-4. As for Maple Heights, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
