Volleyball Recap: MAST Academy Takes a Loss

MAST Academy extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 11-7. They lost 3-0 to the Coral Reef Barracudas. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Barracudas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

As for Coral Reef, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 24th (when they won 3-0).

Valeria Navarro was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had ten digs and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.

MAST Academy and Coral Reef are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Makos will be playing in front of their home fans against Miami Springs at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Coral Reef, they will host South Dade at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
