Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Comes Up Short

Santa Fe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the North Marion Colts and fell 60-21. The Raiders lost against the Colts in their previous head to head back in December of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 1-0 score last time.

North Marion's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from AIYANNIA BARNES, who went 9 of 19 en route to 20 points along with six steals and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of JERMEA JACKSON, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Santa Fe's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for North Marion, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Santa Fe will venture away from home to face off against Fort White at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Marion, they and Trenton will face off at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday without much rest having both just played.
