Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kenzy Hackmann and Carley Brandt Lead Linn to Victory

Linn won the last time they faced Iberia and things went their way on Monday too. The Linn Wildcats put the hurt on the Iberia Rangers with a sharp 51-30 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-13.

Linn was led to victory by Carley Brandt and Kenzy Hackmann. Brandt almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards, while Hackmann posted ten points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Brandt a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiana Hostetler, who earned nine points and six rebounds.

Linn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Several Rangers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alexa Rowden, who put up nine points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaylyn Piggott, who had seven points.

Linn's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Iberia, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Linn will be taking part in a tournament against Fatima at 7:00 p.m. on December 17th. As for Iberia, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-34 loss against Macks Creek on the 12th.
