Baseball Recap: Cordia Lions vs. Jackson City Tigers
Cordia had lost 18 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-16 to make it 19. They lost 15-0 to the Jackson City Tigers. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
As for Jackson City, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
For Jackson City's part, Jacob Morgan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Morgan a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
