Basketball Recap: Stuart W. Cramer Takes a Loss

Stuart W. Cramer lost against Kings Mountain back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Stuart W. Cramer Storm might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Kings Mountain Mountaineers an easy 70-45 win. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while the Mountaineers are ranked 107th).

Despite the loss, Stuart W. Cramer saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gavin Jordan posted ten points and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for Jordan. The team also got some help courtesy of Makhi Brown, who put up six points and five rebounds.

Kings Mountain's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kee'Donn Linney, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points. J'Myun Huskey was another key player, putting up 11 points and five steals.

Stuart W. Cramer dropped their record down to 4-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Kings Mountain, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Stuart W. Cramer and Lincolnton will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stuart W. Cramer is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season. As for Kings Mountain, they will face off against East Rutherford at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. Kings Mountain also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 65.5 points per game.
