Recap: Hanahan Hawks vs. North Charleston Cougars
The Hanahan Hawks suffered their biggest loss since December 28, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against North Charleston, falling 73-43. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hanahan in their matchups with North Charleston: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the defeat, Hanahan had strong showings from Jonah Auckenthaler, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Justin Maduro, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Hanahan has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for North Charleston, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-8.
Hanahan will be playing in front of their home fans against Battery Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Battery Creek is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for North Charleston, they will head out on the road to challenge Philip Simmons at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Philip Simmons focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Tuesday.
