Soccer Game Preview: South Hills vs. North Side

A classic North v. South matchup is on the schedule. The South Hills Scorpions are taking a road trip to take on the North Side Steers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South Hills took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Wyatt get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but South Hills were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, North Side came into Tuesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out Polytechnic 5-4 on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for North Side's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

South Hills' record now sits at 12-4-2. As for North Side, their record is now 8-12.

South Hills beat North Side by a goal in their previous matchup back in February, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scorpions since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
