Volleyball Recap: Fairfield Union Comes Up Short

Fairfield Union had lost seven straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-14 to make it eight. They fell just short of the Hamilton Township Rangers by a score of 3-2. Falcons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Rangers since Tuesday.

Molly Brown paced Fairfield Union's offense, picking up 23 kills. Brown got some help from Laynie Price and her 49 assists. Finally, Kathryn Schmelzer and Annesley Leith kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked three attacks.

As for Hamilton Township, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 8-5. The game was the first time they have beaten Fairfield Union on their court since September 23, 2021.

Addisyn Renz was nothing short of spectacular: she had 21 digs and four aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in August.

Fairfield Union has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Amanda-Clearcreek on the 25th. As for Hamilton Township, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Briggs on the 24th.
