Basketball Recap: Liberty Christian Academy Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Liberty Christian Academy came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 57-50 win over the Mississippi Valley Christian Warriors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Liberty Christian Academy was led to victory by Tommy Meyer and Willy Mueller. Meyer posted 20 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks, while Mueller dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 boards. Meyer continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Clinton Queen, who earned ten points and four steals.

Liberty Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Mississippi Valley Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Carter Hickerson, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gray Sapp, who had 14 points.

Liberty Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Mississippi Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty Christian Academy will host Missouri Military Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mississippi Valley Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Maranatha Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on February 10th.
