Wauconda proved they can win big on Monday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They beat the Mundelein Mustangs by a goal, winning 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for Wauconda, who have now won eight games in a row.

Isabelle Gerle and Ava Hortillosa scored both of Wauconda's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 37 goals.

Wauconda pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five matches. As for Mundelein, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6-3 record this season.

Wauconda does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mundelein, they will square off against Rockford Auburn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
